Blue Ridge Breastfeeding provides in-home lactation consulting, education, and support for families in the tri-state region of PA, MD, and VA. We are committed to helping mothers reach their personal breastfeeding goals.
We identify the needs of both mother and baby, and create a breastfeeding plan that is unique to the pair. Our International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) believe in a holistic approach to solving breastfeeding challenges.
Now in-network with Aetna!
There are a lot of “lactation consultants” out there, but not all credentials are the same. Know who you are hiring and their education and training. The highest level of lactation credential is an IBCLC. These professionals are the breastfeeding experts and highly skilled members of the healthcare team.
Some breastfeeding challenges are easily addressed with subtle positioning changes, additional education for mom, or simple tricks to improve baby’s latch. Other challenges are not so simply fixed, and may be part of a larger issue that only an IBCLC will have the experience and education to evaluate and assess.
There is significant research showing that breastmilk is best for babies. Sometimes it may be confusing or frustrating, especially for new moms, but we are here for you and want to support you each step of the way.
