I met Megan years ago as a LLL leader, not only was she welcoming and kind but she had a wealth of information that was supportive and helpful. Since then I have witnessed her assisting many women with kindness and compassion. One of the coolest things that happened recently was that my husband was talking to a co-worker and discussing breastfeeding issues and he came home from work asking for Megan’s information to help her, apparently all my blabbing about how wonderful she is sunk in.

Marah was a huge help and a fantastic support for me while I was nursing my son. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about food sensitivities and successfully nursing babies with reflux. Some days where a challenge for us but she was always there to give me a pat on the back and tell me what a great job I was doing!

I was a new mom of twin girls born at 34 weeks…. .I was overwhelmed, caring for 2 older children, healing from a c-section and trying to breathe. Thanks to Megan’s lactation advice I was able to breastfeed 8 weeks.

When my son was only a few days old Marah cam to take his newborn photos. Yes, she is also a great photographer! While my little guy was not cooperating and crying. Marah asked if I was a little uncomfortable while breastfeeding, and I was having some soreness when nursing. She then told me suspected that my little guy had a tongue tie and I should have my doctor check it out. Well 1 call to the Pediatrician and confirmation of a tongue, followed by ENT office visit and revision of tongue tie and BAM!!! We were both happy campers. My son nursed beautifully till he was 14 months old.

After learning I have insufficient glandular tissue (IGT) and would be unable to provide food for my daughter, I went through a very lonely, intense time. But when I told Megan about it, and she had actually heard of it, I felt such relief! And then I checked out the resources Megan sent me. What joy in finding community! Megan offered the most perfect answers, empowering and soothing, encouraging and loving. But she wasn’t just supportive, she had concrete advice and resources that were the beginning of a great journey into acceptance and forgiveness (for myself and everyone involved with pre and post natal care who’d never heard of IGT).

Marah gave me great advice for breastfeeding my little one, including advice for his possible tongue tie and latching. She is great at what she does and willing to help anyone…even when she’s not on the clock.

Megan was my first phone call when I started doubting my ability to successfully exclusively breastfeed my son. I worried about his weight gain and diaper output, and she agreed to meet with me at the local breastfeeding drop-in clinic. I cried tears of joy right onto her shoulder as she embraced me after learning that my little boy was, indeed, gaining sufficient weight. Her moral support during that time meant so much to me, and she is my first referral whenever I encounter a mom with breastfeeding questions or struggles. Now pregnant with my third child, I’d like to hope that I won’t need any outside help this time around, but it’s reassuring to know that Megan’s expertise and compassion is available just in case.

My friend Marah has been a fellow breastfeeding and tandem buddy for a couple of years now. I believe support is a huge must for a successful breastfeeding relationship & having her as a friend to seek advice from, share common complaints, & enjoy small triumphs with during my breastfeeding journey has been a total blessing!

I have known Megan for years now and I am so pleased that she has decided to add IBCLC to her credentials. I am excited to be able to refer mother and baby dyads to her once they leave the hospital. Any mom struggling with breastfeeding will benefit from Megan’s knowledge, guidance, and compassion.
